Accounting Technicians are qualified accounting professionals that work at all levels of finance. They can work in all types of organisations and are widely employed throughout the public sector, industry and commerce and in private accounting practices.

Accounting Technicians are involved in the day-to-day practical work of accountancy and play a key operational role in producing reliable financial information. They can perform a wide range of finance roles, from accounts staff to financial controller and beyond.

Accounting Technicians of Ireland (formerly IATI) is one of the fastest-growing professional bodies in this country, with more than 3,800 members and 5,000 students. It was founded in 1983 to provide a recognised business qualification for ambitious young people working or planning to work in middle management or at support level in the accounting area.
